Run a TBI TORIS criminal-history search

TORIS is not the same as a Nashville court search. It is a statewide Tennessee name-based check built from misdemeanor and felony arrests submitted to TBI through fingerprints.

TORIS may provide

  • A statement that the searched subject does or does not have a possible Tennessee history.
  • A copy of a possible matching Tennessee criminal-history record.
  • Fingerprint-submitted misdemeanor and felony arrests.
  • Adult criminal information available through the TBI repository.

TORIS limitations

  • The search is name based rather than fingerprint matched.
  • Aliases are not included in the search.
  • The $29 fee is nonrefundable.
  • Juvenile information is excluded unless transferred to adult criminal court.
  • A possible match still requires identity and court verification.
