Arrest before July 1, 2013

  1. Begin with the arresting agency.
  2. Complete Section One of the restriction application.
  3. The arresting agency completes Section Two.
  4. The prosecutor approves or denies Section Three.
  5. Submit the completed process to GCIC when required.

Arrest on or after July 1, 2013

  1. Contact the prosecutor handling the charge.
  2. Confirm every charge has a final disposition.
  3. Ask whether restriction was transmitted at disposition.
  4. Request court sealing separately when appropriate.
  5. Verify GCIC and public court access after processing.
