Jacksonville Sheriff FL Arrest Records & Jail Lookup

Jacksonville Sheriff / Duval County · Current inmates, historical bookings, mugshots, police reports and criminal court cases

Trace a Jacksonville Arrest From JSO Booking to the Duval Court Outcome

Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office operates both law enforcement and Duval County corrections, so its inmate search is the fastest starting point for a recent Jacksonville arrest. It also contains historical information about released inmates.

The booking is only the first record. Use it to identify the person, charges and 10-digit booking number, then verify the prosecution through Duval County Clerk CORE before treating the allegation as a final criminal result.

Five Jacksonville records answer five different questions

JSO INMATE SEARCH Was the person booked?

Current and historical incarcerated/released inmate records, mugshots and charges.

Best first step for a Jacksonville jail lookup.
JSO PUBLIC RECORDS What did police report?

Arrest docket, offense report, incident report and local criminal-history records.

Use when JSO handled the event.
DUVAL CORE What happened in court?

Criminal docket, filed charges, court dates, pleas, dismissal, judgment and sentence.

This is the key disposition check.
JSO WANTED Is a listed warrant active?

JSO publishes selected individuals who are wanted on active warrants.

Do not treat the page as a complete warrant database.
FDLE Need statewide history?

Florida criminal-history search extends beyond Duval County.

Personal Review uses fingerprints for your own record.

Released and older inmates

The JSO search is not limited to people currently in jail

JSO specifically describes its inmate tool as a search for both current and historical information about incarcerated and released inmates.
Search the same legal name Look for prior released-inmate results.
Separate each booking event Compare dates rather than assuming all listed charges came from one arrest.
Save each booking number A person can have different booking numbers for separate jail events.
Request a JSO local criminal-history search when needed The Public Counter routinely provides local criminal background searches.
Remember JSO history is local It does not substitute for the statewide FDLE criminal-history search.
Verify every old arrest through CORE Release from jail does not tell you whether the prosecution was dismissed or resulted in conviction.
Booking decoder

Read a Jacksonville booking without turning an allegation into a conviction

What a JSO inmate entry means
Field What it tells you What it does not prove Next action
10-digit booking number Identifier for the jail booking. The final court result. Save for mail and inmate-service tasks.
Booking date When jail processing occurred. The exact date of every alleged offense. Compare police and court records.
Charge The allegation associated with custody. What the State Attorney ultimately filed. Check CORE.
Mugshot A booking identification photograph. Guilt or identity by itself. Match DOB and booking information.
Bond A release amount/status associated with a charge. That no other hold exists. Confirm all charges with jail/court.
Released The jail custody event ended. The criminal case ended. Find the court disposition.
Facility Where JSO currently houses the person. That the location will not change. Recheck before mailing or other jail action.
Identity verification

Confirm the correct person before relying on the arrest record

Full first, middle and last name match
Suffix or alias is consistent
Date of birth matches
Booking number is recorded
Booking date matches the known event
Charge matches the reported incident
Court case belongs to the same defendant
Disposition belongs to the same case
Use at least two independent identifiers. A name or mugshot by itself is not enough for publishing an allegation, sending inmate funds or making a consequential decision about another person.
No-result troubleshooting

No JSO inmate result? Follow the correct branch

The person is still processing JSO must complete property inventory, booking, medical screening, identification clearance and cell assignment.
The person already bonded or was released Search historical inmate information and CORE.
The arrest happened in another county Search the booking county rather than Jacksonville.
A Beaches police agency handled it Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach maintain separate police agencies.
UNF Police handled the event University of North Florida has separate law-enforcement jurisdiction for campus matters.
Airport police handled the event Jacksonville International Airport law-enforcement records are not automatically JSO reports.
The person entered Florida state custody Use Florida Corrections after transfer to state prison or supervision.
The record is confidential, sealed or expunged Legally protected information may not be visible publicly.
Custody-verification script
I am trying to confirm whether [full legal name], date of birth [date], was booked into Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office custody on or about [date]. Can you confirm whether the person is currently held, released, transferred or still processing, and provide the correct booking number if publicly available?
Arrest-to-court path

What happens after a Jacksonville arrest?

Law-enforcement arrest JSO or another Duval-area law-enforcement agency creates the arrest/investigative record.
Pretrial Detention Facility intake Property inventory, booking, identification, medical screening and housing must be completed.
First Appearance A judge reviews probable cause, release conditions and bond when applicable.
State Attorney review The Fourth Judicial Circuit State Attorney determines the prosecution that moves forward.
County or Circuit Criminal Court Misdemeanors generally proceed in County Court; felonies proceed through Circuit Criminal.
Arraignment and later hearings Formal charges and additional court dates become part of the CORE docket.
Disposition Each count may end by dismissal, plea, acquittal, withheld adjudication, conviction or another authorized result.
Correction or record relief Errors can be corrected, while qualifying records may later be sealed or expunged.
Police report routing

JSO does not create every police report in Duval County

Find the agency that actually owns the report

Duval criminal court records

Use CORE to verify what happened after the arrest

Open the Duval Clerk CORE portal CORE is the Clerk’s official online court-record access system. Open Duval CORE
Complete the CAPTCHA/public-access step Public access is subject to Florida court-record security rules.
Search by exact case number when available This is the safest way to avoid same-name cases.
Otherwise search the defendant’s name Match DOB, filing date, charge and arrest timing.
Identify misdemeanor or felony County Criminal handles misdemeanor-level offenses; Circuit Criminal handles felony cases.
Read the full docket Do not treat the first charging entry as the final result.
Compare booking charge with formal charge The State Attorney may file a different or amended offense.
Review each count independently One count can be dismissed while another remains pending or results in conviction.
Find the final disposition Look for dismissal, nolle prosequi, plea, adjudication withheld, acquittal, judgment and sentence as applicable.
Order a certified disposition when proof matters Do not rely on a screenshot for licensing, legal or formal verification.
General-public access can display non-confidential case information and eligible documents, but document visibility depends on the case type, user role, confidentiality rules and whether the document has been reviewed for online release.

JSO wanted & warrants

Use JSO’s new Wanted page without assuming it lists every warrant

JSO launched its dedicated Wanted webpage in June 2026. The page publishes information on individuals wanted on active warrants and allows tips to be submitted.
Open the JSO Wanted page Search or review the current public listings. Open JSO Wanted
Match the person’s identity carefully Do not rely on a similar name or image alone.
Search the related Duval court case A court docket can show when a warrant was issued and later activity.
Check current JSO custody A listed warrant may already have resulted in a booking.
Do not interpret absence from Wanted as proof there is no warrant The public Wanted page is not presented as a complete searchable judicial warrant index.
Contact JSO when current status must be confirmed Non-emergency: 904-630-0500.
Fugitive Unit: 904-630-2180.
Do not approach a wanted person. JSO’s Wanted page specifically tells the public not to approach listed individuals.
Cash, surety & purge

Cash bond

Bring the full bond amount to the public reception area of the jail.

Accepted under JSO’s published instructions:

  • Certified check
  • Cashier’s check drawn on a local bank and subject to verification
  • United States Postal Money Order

Check/money order is payable to Office of the Sheriff.

Surety bond

Contact a bonding agency to arrange the surety bond.

JSO corrections officers are prohibited from advising families which bonding company to select.

Search the inmate first Confirm exact booking identity and every active charge.
Review each bond separately A person can have more than one case or hold.
Check for no-bond or outside holds Paying one bond may not result in release.
Confirm the current amount A judge can change release conditions.
Use JSO’s published payment methods Do not rely on payment instructions sent by an unknown caller or social-media account.
Keep the receipt and case numbers Save proof of who paid and which charge the payment covered.

Civil purge amount

If a person is incarcerated on a civil matter such as a Writ of Attachment, the judge may set a purge amount. During normal business hours, JSO directs purge payments to the Domestic Relations Department, Room 107 at the courthouse. After hours, the purge may be paid at the jail using the published cash/certified-check/cashier’s-check/USPS-money-order methods.

Raise safety concerns immediately Ask about release conditions, protective resources and prosecution contact.
Keep your contact information current Notification depends on accurate telephone/email/address information.
False-name arrest problem

JSO has a special process when someone used your identity in an arrest

This is different from a simple spelling error. JSO provides an Arrest Fraud Investigation process when another person falsely used your name on an arrest and booking report.
Confirm the arrest entry is not yours Compare DOB, photograph, booking date and case information.
Contact JSO about an arrest-fraud investigation Explain that your identifying information was falsely used on a booking record.
JSO conducts a computer search Investigators attempt to identify the suspect who used the false identity.
Provide fingerprints JSO uses fingerprint identification to determine whether the booking belongs to you.
Fingerprint cards are free for this fraud investigation JSO provides them at Police Headquarters, 501 E. Bay Street.
Then review FDLE history Use Personal Review to check whether the wrong arrest also reached the statewide record.
Florida state custody

Switch to Florida Corrections after a state-prison transfer

Use Florida Corrections for

  • Florida state-prison custody
  • DC offender number
  • Current state correctional institution
  • Community supervision
  • State correctional contact routing

Do not use it alone for

  • A new JSO booking
  • JSO arrest/offense reports
  • The Duval court disposition
  • Every prior Jacksonville arrest
  • A complete Florida criminal-history check
Recheck JSO custody first Confirm the person is no longer in Duval corrections.
Open Florida Department of Corrections Select the offender-search option. Open Florida Corrections
Search by DC number when known It reduces same-name errors.
Return to Duval CORE for legal proof A corrections entry is not a certified judgment or disposition.

  • No FDLE processing charge
  • Used to review accuracy and completeness
  • Can be challenged when information is inaccurate
  • May take up to 30 working days
Start FDLE Personal Review
Personal Review is not the correct product when you need a certified record for employment, licensing, immigration or another formal purpose. FDLE directs those users to its Certified/Non-Certified Search option.
Record correction

Fix the source of an incorrect Jacksonville arrest entry

Compare all four records Check JSO inmate data, JSO/police report, Duval CORE and FDLE history.
Identify exactly what is wrong Examples: wrong DOB, wrong charge, wrong disposition, duplicate event or misused identity.
Save every identifier Booking number, police case number and court case number are critical.
Correct police-created information through the originating agency The Clerk cannot rewrite a JSO arrest report.
Correct judicial information through the court/Clerk Obtain an amended or certified disposition when necessary.
Use JSO Arrest Fraud when another person used your identity Fingerprint comparison addresses false-name bookings.
Use FDLE Personal Review for statewide errors Challenge incomplete or inaccurate criminal-history information through the FDLE process.
Recheck every system afterward One corrected database does not guarantee another system updates immediately.
Correction is different from sealing. Correction fixes wrong information. Sealing or expungement limits access to an accurate record that qualifies under Florida law.
Jacksonville sealing & expungement

Follow the Duval County record-clearing process in the correct order

A dismissal does not automatically erase a JSO booking or Florida criminal-history entry. Court-ordered sealing or expungement requires a separate statutory process.
FDLE fee

$75 nonrefundable Certificate of Eligibility processing fee.

FDLE timeline

Typically about 12 weeks after a complete packet arrives.

JSO ink fingerprints

Current general fee: $5 per set/card.

Duval Clerk schedule

Lists $59 for sealing a court file or expungement of a record.

Find the JSO arrest and Duval court case Record the arrest date, agency, booking number and every charge.
Obtain a certified final disposition FDLE requires a certified disposition for every charge listed on the eligibility application.
Obtain probation or diversion-completion proof when applicable Include the documentation required for the particular case.
Get the FDLE Certificate of Eligibility application Complete name, DOB, race, sex, addresses, arresting agency, arrest date and charges. Open FDLE eligibility instructions
Sign before a notary or deputy clerk FDLE requires the application to be signed and dated before an authorized witness.
Get fingerprints FDLE requires a completed fingerprint card/form from an authorized law-enforcement or criminal-justice agency.
For an expungement, send Section A to SAO4 first Deliver or mail it to the State Attorney at 311 W. Monroe Street, Attention: Sealing/Expungement Department.
Wait for the State Attorney certification If the prosecutor signs the required expunction statement, the application is returned for submission to FDLE.
Send the complete packet to FDLE Include application, certified disposition, fingerprint card and the $75 payment.
Use a current accepted FDLE payment type FDLE currently accepts money order, cashier’s check or personal check payable to FDLE; it does not accept cash, gift cards or temporary checks.
Wait for the Certificate of Eligibility FDLE does not expedite the ordinary application process.
Remember the certificate does not clear the record It only establishes eligibility to ask the court for relief.
Prepare the petition, affidavit and proposed order Make sure the petition and order both identify whether you seek sealing or expungement.
File the packet with the correct Duval criminal department Felony and misdemeanor filings both use the Duval County Courthouse at 501 W. Adams Street.
Send a copy to the State Attorney SAO4 instructs applicants to send the petition, affidavit, order and Certificate of Eligibility to its Seal & Expunge Division.
Allow for SAO4 review The State Attorney currently describes its local processing step as approximately four weeks.
Watch for a signed order or hearing notice The court has final discretion whether to grant qualifying relief.
Keep certified copies of the final order FDLE recommends saving pertinent documents before ordinary public access is restricted.
Verify FDLE received the certified order FDLE states that relief is not completed until it receives the certified court order.
Important Duval fee distinction: SAO4’s current local instructions state that there is no charge to file the petition, affidavit, order and Certificate of Eligibility. The Duval Clerk’s separate general fee schedule lists $59 for “Sealing any court file or expungement of record.” In other words, do not automatically treat $59 as the petition-filing fee; it is separately listed as the Clerk’s sealing/expungement record service.
FDLE states that the standard court-ordered sealing/expungement statutes generally allow one such proceeding in a lifetime, subject to the statutory rules and limited related-arrest provisions.
