Find a Las Vegas Arrest and Follow It to the Correct Jail and Court
Las Vegas does not have one arrest database covering every police agency, jail and court. The correct search depends on where the arrest occurred and which offense or court has jurisdiction.
This guide separates Clark County Detention Center custody, the Las Vegas city jail, police reports, court cases, warrants, bail, visitation, inmate services, legal help and Nevada record sealing.

How to search the Clark County Detention Center
Enter only one search field
Search the last name, inmate ID or Las Vegas Justice Court case number.
Use more than two surname letters when possible
The system accepts at least two letters, but a longer surname entry reduces unrelated matches.
Open every plausible person
Similar names can belong to unrelated people.
Match the inmate ID and age
Do not rely only on the name or booking photograph.
Record every case number
One inmate can have separate Justice Court, District Court, Municipal Court or outside-jurisdiction cases.
Read every charge and status
Check whether each matter is active, resolved or connected to a detainer.
Check the scheduled court department
Save the hearing type, department, date and time.
Confirm the current housing
Housing controls visitation and can change after classification or transfer.
A person booked as John or Jane Doe cannot post bail until properly identified through the Clark County fingerprint process. Contact CCDC when you have legal identification that may help establish identity.
Las Vegas city jail
Search the Las Vegas Detention Center
The city detention center processes misdemeanor arrests within Las Vegas city jurisdiction. The city reports an average daily population of approximately 430 and provides medical screening, 24-hour nursing and behavioral-health services.
Search the last name first
Add the first name when the surname is common.
Use the inmate ID when known
An inmate ID produces a safer match than a common name.
Save the booking number
It is needed for mail, bail, visitation and account services.
Confirm the related Municipal Court case
City misdemeanor cases commonly proceed through Las Vegas Municipal Court.
Call when the result is unclear
Select option 3 for inmate information.

Recent-arrest workflow
How to find someone arrested today or yesterday
There is no complete public “Las Vegas recent arrests” list combining CCDC, the city jail, Henderson, North Las Vegas, federal custody and every police agency.
Identify the arrest location
Determine the hotel, casino, street, neighborhood or city connected to the arrest.
Identify the arresting agency
Look for LVMPD, a city marshal, Henderson Police, North Las Vegas Police, Nevada State Police or a federal agency.
Search CCDC first for an LVMPD felony-type arrest
Use the surname and then confirm age, case and arrest date.
Search the city jail for a city misdemeanor
The city system is separate from CCDC.
Search Henderson and North Las Vegas when location indicates
Do not assume “Las Vegas Valley” means Clark County Detention Center.
Allow time for processing
Fingerprinting, identification, medical screening, property inventory and data entry can delay publication.
Search the court after a case number appears
The court may identify release conditions and the next hearing before other public pages update.
Call the correct jail
Use the official number when a safety, medication, release or court deadline makes the search urgent.

Fingerprints, identification, health screening and data entry may be incomplete.
The wrong jail was searched
Repeat the search in CCDC, the Las Vegas city jail, Henderson and North Las Vegas.

Try the surname alone, maiden name, alias, compound surname or alternate spelling.
The person is under 18
CCDC does not display people under 18 in the public inmate search.
The person is in protective custody
CCDC does not publicly display protective-custody information.

Arrest-to-court lifecycle
What happens after a Las Vegas arrest?
Police or marshal arrest
The arresting agency creates the report, event number, arrest information and evidence references.
Facility selection
Jurisdiction and the alleged offense determine whether the person enters CCDC, the city jail or another detention system.
Booking and fingerprinting
Staff verify identity, record property, conduct health screening and enter charges, warrants and detainers.
Release or first court appearance
The person may post bail, receive another release order or remain detained.
Prosecutor review
The City Attorney or District Attorney decides which charges, if any, to prosecute.
Municipal or Justice Court
A misdemeanor may stay in the lower court. Felony and gross-misdemeanor cases commonly begin in Justice Court.
District Court filing
A felony or gross misdemeanor can proceed by information or indictment to the Eighth Judicial District Court.
Disposition and sentence
The case may end through dismissal, acquittal, plea, conviction, judgment or sentence.
Correction or sealing
Missing dispositions may be updated, incorrect identity data challenged and eligible records sealed.

Court verification
Find the formal charges and final outcome
Use the case number first
It is safer than relying on a common defendant name.
Match the defendant and filing date
Compare the court record with the booking date and arresting agency.
Locate the complaint, information or indictment
This identifies what prosecutors formally filed.
Read amended charges
A later filing can replace, add, reduce or dismiss a count.
Check warrant entries in order
A warrant may later be served, recalled or quashed.
Find the disposition for each count
One charge may be dismissed while another results in a plea or conviction.
Read the judgment and sentence
Do not treat a generic “closed” status as a complete result.
Order formal proof when needed
Request a plain, certified or exemplified copy from the maintaining clerk.
District Court documents
Clark County District Court records, copies and fees
The Eighth Judicial District Court maintains records from September 1909 forward. Most records from 1990 to the present can be searched online. Older records may require a staff or microfilm search.

A previously issued warrant may have been served, cleared or quashed.
Confirm current status
Municipal warrant information changes continuously and may not reflect an hourly update.

Nevada state-prison custody
Use the Nevada DOC locator after a state transfer
Use Nevada DOC for
- A person currently listed in state correctional custody.
- An offender ID and current institution.
- State-prison visitation and mail routing.
- Parole, booking and release data displayed by NDOC.
Do not use Nevada DOC alone for
- A recent CCDC booking.
- A Las Vegas city misdemeanor detainee.
- The formal court charging document.
- An official judgment or certified disposition.
Search the offender ID when known
The ID produces a more reliable result than a common name.
Otherwise search first and last name
The NDOC search supports wildcard name entries.
Record the current facility
Visitation applications must be sent to the institution where the offender is housed.
Nevada criminal history
Request your own fingerprint-supported Nevada record
A Nevada State Police history is a Nevada-only criminal-history record. It does not include records from other states or automatically replace a separate FBI Identity History Summary.
Choose electronic or manual submission
Electronic personal requests are available from inside Nevada. Out-of-state requests use the manual process.
Provide a complete rolled fingerprint card when required
Use an authorized law-enforcement or fingerprinting provider.
Pay the current published state charge
Confirm the exact fee on the State Police fee page before obtaining a money order or cashier’s check.
Allow state processing time
The repository publishes processing within 30 calendar days, plus approximately two additional weeks for mail and delivery.
Review the record from 1987 forward
Older Nevada records may require a request to the arresting agency.
Included information can contain
Arrests and detention
Indictments and formal charges
Dismissals and acquittals
Convictions and sentences
Correctional supervision
Parole or probation status
Record correction
Correct a wrong Las Vegas arrest or disposition
Identify which record is wrong
Compare the jail result, LVMPD SCOPE history, court disposition and Nevada State Police history.
Save the disputed information
Record the inmate ID, booking number, LVMPD event number, case number and incorrect field.
Obtain controlling proof
Use a certified disposition, amended court order, valid identity document or agency correction.
Use an LVMPD Criminal History Update for missing dispositions
Attach the court disposition. LVMPD does not charge for this update.
Start an LVMPD history update
Use an LVMPD Records Challenge for wrong-person data
Use this route for inaccurate information, identity theft or information that does not belong to you.
Start an LVMPD record challenge
Handle warrants through the court
LVMPD does not correct a court warrant through the criminal-history update process.
Challenge the state record when necessary
Submit Nevada State Police form DPS-008-X with the supporting documents.
Recheck every connected system
A correction in one database may not immediately update the jail, court and private background report.
LVMPD does not charge for a Criminal History Update or Records Challenge. A valid photo ID and supporting proof are required.
Nevada record sealing
Seal an eligible Las Vegas arrest or criminal case
Nevada uses record sealing rather than general destruction of the record. A sealed record is removed from ordinary information sources but can remain available in circumstances authorized by law or court order.
Justice or District Court case
Use the Clark County District Attorney and court forms for Justice Court or Eighth Judicial District Court records.
Las Vegas Municipal Court case
Use the Municipal Court record-sealing handbook and city forms. A county filing does not automatically seal a municipal case.
Obtain your current Nevada criminal history
State Police recommends obtaining the fingerprint-supported record before preparing the petition.
Obtain the LVMPD SCOPE printout
Request it for the purpose of sealing records.
Collect every police and court record
Obtain arrest reports, case numbers and final dispositions for each matter included.
Separate agencies and courts
Henderson, North Las Vegas and other agencies may require their own history and forms.
Check eligibility and waiting periods
Eligibility depends on the offense, disposition, sentence and applicable Nevada statute.
Seek prosecutor review when the process allows
A prosecutor-approved proposed order can reduce later objections, but the court retains authority.
File the petition and required attachments
Some District Court departments require the current verified state record, police reports and an affidavit explaining rehabilitation.
Attend a hearing when ordered
Bring the petition, criminal histories, reports, dispositions and evidence supporting eligibility.
Distribute the signed order
Send certified copies to every police, court and repository agency named in the order.
Verify each public system
Confirm that LVMPD, the court and Nevada State Police completed their updates.
Nevada State Police states that a sealing process can commonly take two to four months, while its criminal-history FAQ warns that repository processing after receipt of an order can take as long as six months.
Agencies outside Nevada may not be legally bound by a Nevada sealing order. Private websites may also require a separate dispute after the government records are updated.
