Correct the originating agency first
MCSO corrects booking data, police correct their report and the court corrects the court file.
Use the DPS Review and Challenge process
Identify the incomplete or incorrect entry and include supporting proof.
Recheck connected systems
One correction may not automatically update another public website or private background report.

Correction versus sealing: Use correction when the information is factually wrong. Use sealing or another relief process when the record is accurate but may qualify for restricted public access.

Seal a case recordRestricts public access to eligible arrest, court, prosecutor, law-enforcement and DPS case records under A.R.S. § 13-911.
Set aside a convictionAdds a set-aside result after completion of an eligible Arizona conviction. It does not remove the case from public records.

Sealing workflow
Collect every case and arrest identifier
Save booking numbers, report numbers, dates, citations and court case numbers.
Obtain the final disposition
Confirm how every count ended and whether all sentence obligations are complete.
Check statutory exclusions
Dangerous offenses, dangerous crimes against children, specified serious or violent offenses, weapon-element offenses and certain sexual offenses are excluded.
Choose the correct filing court
File where convicted, where the dismissed charge was filed, where the initial appearance occurred or in Superior Court for an arrest with no filing and no initial appearance.

A hearing request cannot be added after the ruling.

If the court denies a sealing petition, the petitioner generally must wait three years before filing another petition. That waiting rule does not apply when the filing was dismissed without a ruling because it was filed in the wrong court or lacked enough information.
A set aside is not sealing. The conviction remains publicly accessible with a notation that the judgment was set aside. Arizona expungement is generally limited to qualifying marijuana matters.
