Complete the Sheriff’s Request for Service Form, provide identification and pay the required fee. Mail requests require a notarized identification copy and accepted payment.

Can the Sheriff release a report from an active case?

The Sheriff states that arrest records connected to an active case, active investigation or active prosecution are not released.

How do jail visits work?

The visitor must be approved and listed on the inmate’s PAN list. The PAN telephone number must match the GettingOut account telephone number.

How do I send commissary money?

Use a lobby kiosk, CorrectPay online or app, call 855-836-3364, or use the inmate-account office at the correct facility.

How long does release take?

There is no guaranteed time. Shelby County states that release can take approximately three to six hours after the order because of identity, warrant, medical and processing checks.

How do I find a court date?

Use the General Sessions or Criminal Court search. General Sessions can also assist at 901-222-3500 during business hours or 901-222-3600 after hours and on weekends.

Can a Shelby County arrest be expunged?

Some dismissed, nollied, no-true-bill, arrest-without-charge and not-guilty cases qualify for free Tennessee expungement. File in the court where the case originated.
