SUMMIT COUNTY JAIL
Is the person held now?
Use the Sheriff roster for present county-jail custody and inmate identification.
Current custody does not prove guilt or final case outcome.
ARRESTING AGENCY
What did officers report?
Request the incident or arrest report from the Sheriff, Akron Police or the other agency that created it.
Jail staff do not automatically own the arresting agency’s report.
COURT RECORD
What happened to the charge?
Use Common Pleas for felony cases and the proper municipal court for misdemeanors and traffic cases.
This is where you verify dismissal, plea, conviction and sentence.

Summit County states that inmates can be released at any hour, seven days a week.
Paperwork reaches jail later
For a morning court appearance, release paperwork may reach the jail in mid-afternoon.
