Lucas County Clerk advises contacting the municipal court of jurisdiction regarding warrants. There is no reason to treat one local docket as a complete statewide warrant database.

It is needed when requesting return of eligible cash bond after the case ends.
When a percent cash bond is later returned, Toledo Municipal Court states that the court keeps 10% of the amount actually posted. A full cash bond is returned in full after the case ends and applicable fines and costs are satisfied, subject to court orders.

Ohio’s record-relief law changed again effective September 30, 2025. Do not rely on older articles stating that every misdemeanor requires exactly one year and every felony exactly three years without checking the present offense category.

There are special rules for some offenses, including soliciting improper compensation and certain records involving sex-offender registration. Eligibility is determined from the exact statute, degree, criminal history and case result.
